The Administration explains that counterfeit goods frequently fail to meet safety standards, may contain harmful substances, and can lack proper labeling or quality control. Consumers are advised to purchase only from authorized retailers, verify the authenticity of products through official channels, and report suspicious sellers to the relevant authorities. The notice also provides guidance on how to identify fake items, such as examining packaging quality, price consistency, and seller reputation. By raising awareness, the Administration aims to protect public health and maintain confidence in legitimate commercial transactions, emphasizing that the savings from cheap counterfeits can ultimately be far greater than any immediate cost advantage.
