FURS reopens tax returns for businesses, accounting and tax advisors

The Financial Administration of the Republic of Slovenia (FURS) has announced that it will once again open the electronic submission of tax returns for businesses, accounting entities and tax advisors, a practice that was previously suspended for several years. The reinstated procedure will be active from 27 July 2026 up to and including 14 August 2026, providing a limited window for the electronic filing of tax returns related to corporate income, value‑added tax and other statutory obligations. The announcement specifies that the service is intended for legal persons that have filed their tax obligations in the previous year and that require an update or correction of previously submitted data. The system will be accessible through the FURS online portal, where users can download the necessary forms, upload supporting documentation and receive an automatic confirmation of receipt. The notice also details the technical requirements, such as the use of compatible software, the need for electronic signatures and the deadline for submission of supporting documents. In addition, the FURS highlights the benefits of the electronic process, including faster processing times, reduced error rates and the ability to track the status of submissions in real time. The reopening is part of a broader initiative to modernise tax administration, improve taxpayer services and ensure greater transparency in the collection of public revenues. Stakeholders are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the updated instructions and to take advantage of the opportunity to finalise their tax affairs before the deadline.
